Alex Has given us a whole story about this model. The Children of Plaqxanna the Brood Mother Queen are extremely dexterous and powerful beasts capable of tearing a man limb from limb in seconds.
While extremely strong and durable, it is the powerful toxins and disease that swell from their mandibles and fangs that cause the most damage; the green ichor able to corrode through rock and armor plating with frightening ease.
The Arachnids are semi-sentient, and while they aren’t capable of critical thought they do respond to basic emotion. Pairing them with a Nurgling allows a strong bond between the two, as the Nurglings carry with them Papa Nurgle’s jovial tendencies, and take great care and delight in looking after their 8 legged friends. In return the spiders defend their Nurgling masters furiously, unable to be controlled in a blood frenzy should their jockey fall in battle. While they are near useless on their own, when paired with a tactically astute Nurgling these units can be used as an extremely rapid assault or counter-attacking measure.
