In life this legionnaire served in the Deathguard’s vaunted Destroyer cadres, gaining the unique honour of his Primarch allowing him to drink a draught of Mortarion’s own tonic. Meeting his end to the cancers riddling his frame due to prolonged exposure to bioharardous material, the Legionaire’s second life would see him reborn inside the experimental Leviathan class Dreadnought. The fell symbols of chemical warfare from Ancient Terra adorn this living emblem of Deathguard stubbornness in the face of mortality.
Again this project was inspired by seeing Fallout Hobbies excellent biohazard set of stencils and decals. The large surface on the front of the Leviathan offers us the perfect canvas to do something cool. The barbed talons of the biohazard sign has always looked faintly evil to me, a sign of ultimate death pain. If anyone has any information on how the Biohazard sign came into being I’d love to hear it (I don’t know what the equivalent term would be for the history and formation of signs as etymology is to language).
And yes, that is a genuine Forgeworld Salamander Contemptor Dreadnought at his feet used solely for the purpose of basing material. Suck it lizard lovers!
