Field of Fire Gaming here to bring you this great announcement: The Southern Tournament Circuit (or STC) 2018 Season is underway for Warhammer 40k!
We’ve been putting things together and, with the completion of our recent Vegas Crusade tournament recently, we’ve finally got the numbers rolling. What is the “STC” you ask? Well, the whole breakdown can be found HERE, but the basics are as follows:
What is the STC?
The eastern states all have an immense concentration of 40k players. From Virginia to North Carolina to Florida, there are some of the best players in the country and several major events throughout the year. In particular, the Carolinas have a rich population of players playing every sort of army or list and we wanted to keep an eye on more than just our local matches. Players attend their local events, many even going as far as to travel to the numerous tournaments in other cities nearby. What was missing was a way to track those separate events and their outcomes. The STC is designed to not only make players aware of events throughout the region but to report the various armies in attendance and their performance.
Secondarily, we’re publishing a leaderboard to pair with the STC. Compiled from data gathered from STC events, the STC Leaderboard is a great way for the community as a whole to follow individual players. It also serves to see how a faction might be fairing in the region as a whole. Plus, who doesn’t like a bit of healthy rivalry between clubs and individual players? Field of Fire Gaming events are included as the core of the STC, but any event can be included, adding to the regional meta. Rewards, beyond obvious bragging rights, will be available to champions of the STC/Leaderboard at the end of the season.
