Boba Fett’s HERE! Fantasy Flight Games just announced two new expansions for Star Wars: Legion. Come see the latest on Fett and Imperial Scout Troopers.
Fantasy Flight Games is giving us the word on some scout action this week, as they are debuting the Imperial Scout Troopers and the ever-popular Boba Fett.
Imperial Scouts
This new squad plays a deadly role at both very close or very far range. What sets scouts apart from the run in the mill stormtroopers? The scouts carry the EC-17 hold-out blaster allowing each model to contribute 2 black dice when attacking. While this is devastating firepower, it has a very short range.
The squad can include a sonic charge saboteur to wreak havoc in the ranks of enemy infantry by saturating the battlefield with explosive. They may also take a DLT-19X sniper rifle which can unleash a high power shot at virtually any target.
Oh yeah. Did we mention the squad has the scout-1 ability allowing them to move immediately after deployment? This can allow them to get to cover faster or get a head start on objectives.
Scout troopers are the first into the battlefield with the objective of spying on the enemy and gathering intel for the larger forces to strike. This is represented very well in the game and these boys will be a perfect addition to any imperial army list.
Is that Boba? Yes. Yes, it is.
Boba Fett
Boba heard there was a bounty on your head.
That’s right folks, FFG made it clear that the rogue operator is dropping in to lead the forces of whoever hires him. The game developers are adding a new role into the game called “operative”. Any army can have up to 2 operatives. Operatives have the ability to be paired with another leader. (Darth Vader or Veers).
Boba Fet has his own 3 signature command cards as well. These cards can only be used on himself, however, they give you access to Boba’s many gadgets. For example, he can fire his whipcord launcher to freeze an enemy trooper in place with 2 immobilization tokens and 2 suppression tokens. His EC-11 is good for dealing with infantry units at close to medium range while his wrist rockets can open up vehicles at close range like a can of sardines.
Boba Fett wouldn’t be complete without his signature Mandalorian armor. His suit allows him to roll red dice when making saves. On top of that, he can roll an additional red dice for each point of pierce in the attack pool.
With the imperial side of things sure is getting a huge buff with two new units adding a new playstyle to the game, will you be grabbing these expansions? What do you think about the models? Let us know what you think in the comments!
