As Games Workshop’s sales climbed millions, they just announced another £5 million bonus split with their all staff across the board, again!

GW has been giving its fanbase a constant stream of new previews and releases all year long, and the good news it looks like it’s been helping their bottom line!

With sales going up across multiple product lines, the company celebrated its revenue with the staff that made it happen! Just last year, they celebrated a £5 million bonus with their staff as well.

How Well Has GW Done This Fiscal Year?

Coming from GW’s Investor Relations:

Games Workshop is pleased to announce that the sales and profit growth, which was discussed in the trading update released on 12 April 2019, has continued in the period to the end of the financial year. Sales growth has been across all sales channels.

We expect the Group’s sales for the year to 2 June 2019 to be approximately £254 million and the Group’s profit before tax to be not less than £80 million. Royalties receivable from licensing are approximately £11 million. As in the prior year, in recognition of our staff’s contribution to these results, we paid during the year profit share bonuses amounting in total to £5 million. These were paid on an equal basis to each member of staff.

Despite the hiccup with the trade tariffs, we’re still seeing GW blossom into an even more successful company than before. That’s promising.

Comparing Their Success To Last Year

100% Totally True Biography of Neave Blacktalon

With GW’s Pre-tax profits sitting at  £80 million this year, that’s a £5.5 million increase from last year’s £74.5 million.

Shares in GW’s Fantasy Miniature Firm also jumped from £219.9 million last year to approximately £254 million this year. That’s a rough £34 million profit in the company’s pockets.

Nottingham Post also commented:

It is the second consecutive year the fantasy games group has provided the payout to staff, after it doubled its profits in 2018.

During the year, Games Workshop also received royalties from licensing of approximately £11 million.

The news has come as a number of investment projects at the company’s Nottingham headquarters continue to take place.

Nottingham City Council has already approved plans for new warehouse and production facilities and a four-story office building at its base in Willow Lane.

To tack on even more success to the company, they’ve announced plans for a new warehouse/production sites. That means, fingers crossed, that we’ll begin to see fewer products on GW’s website go out of stock and stay that way for months. With their popularity and revenue on a steady increase, they could be starting to putting effort into keeping up with the demand.

Check back with us in the latter half of July when GW releases their fully detailed report for the fiscal year.

All in all, it’s great to see the hobby world’s heavy hitter doing so well. The community is still going strong and GW employees all around are getting a slice of the well-earned cake. What are your thoughts on GW’s fiscal year? What do you think has been their most popular release?
