Another Horus Heresy rulebook is no longer available from Forge World, but there is still hope that a re-printing may be on the way for Space Marine fans!
Looking at Forge World, they’ve got a section showing all of the Horus Heresy campaign books. With Malevolence being the latest book containing rules for Sanguinius and Daemons of the Ruinstorm, some of the books in the series seem to be moving to softback.
Horus Heresy Campaign Book V Moving to Softback Next?
Tempest (Book V) of the Horus Heresy series is no longer avaialbe from Forge World. So currently besides the red books, players have no way to get the rules for the Warlord Titan, Ultramarines, or Word Bearers.
Looking under the Campaign Books section of Forge World’s webstore, the books are listed in numerical order. However, the softback book four skips directly over the missing book five and goes onto a softback book six.

Imperium, the Ultramarines were drawn into Mankind’s civil war when betrayal reached Ultramar. The Horus Heresy Book Five – Tempest tells of the Word Bearers’ treacherous attack on the Ultramarines at the mustering world of Calth. This cataclysmic battle engulfed the entire system, pitching not only the Legions against each other, but also the massed ranks of the Imperial Army militia and the towering god-machines of the Legio Titanicus.
Black Library Has Done This For Years
Black Library has originally dropped a new book in hardback, then after sometime re-hype the release in a usually-cheaper, softback version. It seems like Forge World is doing it currently with Horus Heresy campaigns. While it looks like the first three books have not sold out as of yet (and may have already been restocked once already), the middle ones seem to be getting the softcover treatment as the years progress…
So chances are, even though it’s sold out now, we could see a reprint of book V perhaps before the holidays in softcover. However as prices for the hardcover books 4 and 6 have already spiked on the secondary market, now may be the time to hunt down one of the few remaining copies of Tempest out there.
As far as Tempest goes with the turmoil between the Ultramarines, Legio TItanicus, and Word Bearers, what do you think is in store for book five? Will it move to softback next? What’s your favorite book out of the campaign series?
