The plastic Space Marine Drop Pod is a fantastic plastic model. It will take a few tips and trick to build it right, however. Start by gathering up your hobby tools to help your build go smooth. Liquid Cement, a hobby knife, a pair of clippers, and rubber bands are a few of the tools needed to get this started.

Next, carefully clip your Drop Pod bits off of the plastic sprue. Don’t forget to remove any mold lines or extra chunks of plastic. This is a huge part of the assembly and making the doors close properly!

An old bristle brush or toothbrush gets some of the extra plastic pieces off in no time. Next, grab some plastic cement and start assembling your Drop Pod doors. A liberal amount of glue on the bottom of the door and zig-zagged across the backplate seals the deal. Place the front panel on the door and wrap it up with 3 rubber bands. This will help your plastic bits fits together snuggly. Do this for each door.

Next, assemble each door onto the center base plate of your Drop Pod. Apply the stabilizer fins to build the outline of your Drop Pod. The turbofan assembly will hold your Drop Pod together, so pay attention to this critical step. After each stabilizer is assembled, fold your doors up  You should hear a resounding SNAP! as your doors lock into the flush closed position against the fins.  If you don’t hear this SNAP there is something blocking the doors from pressing up against the rest of the assembly somewhere.

Now while it all dries, add 3 rubber bands to your fins. This will help your Drop Pod retain its signature shape!
