If you are ready to get down and dirty painting some Nurgle Daemons, don’t miss this tutorial on painting Nurgle guts and lips!
For all of you Nurgly fans out there, we have a fun an interesting tutorial painting the Spoilpox Scrivener guts and lips. Today we’ll focus on getting the base coat layer of tabletop-ready paint on these models, and we will finish up the details in a follow-up video tutorial.
Let’s get started on these Nurgle colors!
As a starting base coat of paint, Minitaire Bile color and a bit of Necrotic Flesh on the skin and to start our tonal color. Next, a Model Air Black Brown color is used to give a nice shadowing detail work on the crooks of skin and the mouth. The Spoilpox Scrivener’s mouth is extra large with some large gums, so base coating with the dark brown highlight may not be necessary.
The next color up for the Spoilpox Scrivener is a Vallejo Hexed Lichen purple color that will add to the depth of the guts and lips. The brown base coat will help it look more faded and will help blend the colors together. It will create the appearance of abused and beaten flesh fitting of a Nurgle Daemon.
Use the purples above to also pay attention to the boils and sores on the Nurgle flesh. After the purples have been finished, some highlighting will be done on the boils with bright greens and bright yellows, working out some of the guts. The detailed work will be completed in a later tutorial, but for now, we will get some great depth and contrast work done.
Get some Screamer Pink to go over the Hexed Lichen to add some highlights to the guts. Once you get done with the highlights on the guts and lips, you will be well on your way to completing this model’s paint job!
