Cavill Still on Board For Warhammer 40k & Highlander Reboot

By Travis Pasch | October 10th, 2023 | Categories: Pop Gamer Culture, Warhammer 40k Rumors

Henry Cavill Deepfake feature rHenry Cavill is still on board for a Highlander reboot along with all the other Warhammer 40k projects with Amazon.

The new Highlander show has supposedly been in the works for a couple of years now, but we’ve heard almost nothing about it since it was announced. However, like a light coming from the clouds, Chad Stahelski has come down to give us a glimpse of what we can expect for the show and, most importantly, that Henry Cavill is still involved in the project!

Someone also deep-faked what Cavill could look like as Highlander, so we’ll take a look at that as well!

On the Warhammer 40k side of things, supposedly everything is moving ahead full steam with the wrap-up of the writer’s strike, and we even had some rumored castings that you can check out here.

The new info comes from Stahelski, and he says Cavill will be a part of the project but gives a tiny bit more insight into the project.

I’ll say it for you first, our story engages a lot of the same characters and stuff like that. But we’ve also brought in elements of all the TV shows, and we’re trying to do a bit of a prequel, a setup to The Gathering, so we have room to grow the property.

This seems to be a good direction to take the project, as they aren’t just rehashing the older movies and shows; they seem to be taking it somewhere we haven’t been much, which should not only expand the lore but also give us more insight into how everything happened.

Unfortunately, this is about all we know so far; they have kept the plot completely under wraps. Still, this is good news as they are bringing in elements from the TV shows that people have loved so much.

Let’s just hope they stay away from Highlander 2 a little bit, as let’s just say it’s not been received very well…

Back when the project was announced, Cavill put out his love for the franchise.

I’ve been a fan of Highlander since I was lad. From the movies in all of their 80s, Queen slathered glory to the TV show with an actor who looked remarkably like one of my brothers.

As we’ve come to expect from Cavill, he seems to really love the projects he works on, and with him as the main character (and hopefully having some say in the production), we are getting quite excited to see how this turns out!

If you want a little glimpse into what this might turn out like, there is a deepfake to show us!

This somehow makes the original 1986 trailer just that much cooler! The music is different from the original trailer, but that seems to be a creative choice by the creator of the video, nothing to do with the actual reboot. What is there to say other than they did an amazing job, and he fits in perfectly!

If you were wondering what the reboot could look like, this hopefully sets your worries straight. In basically every scene, he looks right at home, and we are more excited than ever about the reboot.

Henry Cavill Deepfake 2First off, deepfakes are scary because they just look so good. But in every scene in the trailer, Henry looks quite at home in the role (even though it’s not actually him…).

Henry Cavill Deepfake 3There can be only one! We would love to see this scene recreated in the “reboot!”

Are you excited the reboot is still on the way with Henry Cavill also involved in it?
