2nd Place: Clifton Russel- Orks

clutch city orks

This force of Orks is led by Big Mek giving ranged invun saves to nearby allies and a Warboss on Warbike providing a great dueling character who can also help pass morale tests when needed. 50 Gretchin fill the troop slots with the cheapest bodies available.

clutch city orks 25 Kommandos provides some cheap Elite bodies that can essentially deep strike in. 3 Grot Mega-tanks bring a mix of volume shots for chaff and high strength/damage shots for antiarmor. 6 Smasha Gun Mek Gunz provided even more anti-armor shots while also having blast, meaning it’s great against medium-sized elite squads.

Add 12 more Smasha guns and you’ve got a serious gunline that will chew through any measly marines in front of them.

The second detachment is led by a Weirdboy for some bonus psychic support in Da Jump for that sweet sweet mobility. 27 Gretchin provides even more chaff to serve as meat shields for the wall of Smasha Guns, while 10 Lootas provide one last dash of long-range antiarmor shots.

1st Place: Sean Nayden- Eldar

Clutch city eldar 1

Sean is known for his Eldar, and this showing didn’t disappoint. First up he has a spearhead lead by an Avatar of Khaine and a Farseer Skyruuner. The Avatar serves as a great melee fighter, while the farseer serves as a great support piece offering psychic powers and mobility to zip around the battle.

Moving into Heavy Support, there is a total of 9 Dark Reapers serving as the antiarmor with their fantastic Reaper Launchers at 48″ range and built-in re-rolls (and ignoring negatives to hit). There are also two Wraithseers for some bonus psychic support on decent bodies, which at the very least can cast smite a few times for bonus mortal wounds.

Clutch city eldar 3Next up he opted for a patrol of Ynnari Drukhari. Razorwing flocks serve as cheap mobile units that can at the very least serve as distractions.

Clutch city eldar 4In the HQs, the Archon provides some re-rolls for the Ravager and Raider coming up. Yvraine provides a great fighter and gives the list access to some great stratagems all while being pretty hard to get rid of for your opponents. Wyches are cheap bodies that can man the Raider coming up and grab objectives if need be. A single Beastmaster gives rerolls to the Razorwing flocks and makes it so they don’t take up slots and fit nicely into a patrol. The Incubi are just very solid melee combatants for pretty cheap investment.

Clutch city eldar 515 Hellions are very mobile fighters and in this case, seem to be solely melee fighters as a sort of shock cavalry. The Ravager serves as a perfect vehicle for taking out pesky marines with its convenient 9 s5 -3AP 2D shots, while the Raider can carry the Wyches and acts as a mobile weapon platform.

Eldar Victory- Congrats to Sean on the win!
