Warhammer TV went live today and gave us all an amazing in depth preview of the new Kharadron Overlord Battletome. First and foremost let’s take a look at some of the back story, Kharadron Code, and abilities that come with 2 of their factions.
Barak-Nar, City of the First Sunrise
Abilities: Add 1 to any unbinding rolls made for Barak-Nar Heroes.
Command Trait: Friendly Barak-Nar units within 3″ of this general do not have to take battleshock tests.
Be sure to check out their Artycle, Amendment, and Footnotes section as well.
Barak-Thyring, City of the Ancestors
Abilities: When picking an enemy unit for the Settle the Grudges Artycle, pick D3 units instead
Artefact of Power: The bearer of Grudgehammer can re-roll failed hit and wound rolls in the combat phase for attacks that target and enemy unit which was picked for the Settle The Grudge Artycle.
Once again, be sure to check out their Artycle, Amendment, and Footnotes section as well.
Great Endrinworks
Any Skyvessel can be given any one of the above stated Great Endrinworks.
Now let’s find out what some of these units can actually do! On to the Battle Scrolls!
Aether-Khemist
Let’s stop and take a look at that Missile Weapon… 10″ range with 3D6 attacks! Compund that with a -2 rend and it seems like that one weapon alone is enough to strike fear in your enemy’s eyes. But then you see the Atmospheric Isolation Ability… An Aether-Khemist can use their Anatomiser at the beginning of the combat phase to reduce the attack characteristics by 1, to a minimum of 1, to all enemy models within 3″.
Arkanaut Company
The Arkanaut Company is a Battleline unit, 10 models costing 120 points with a max of 30 models. The attacks that these guys are packing is diverse and deadly. You can’t beat that point cost at all!
Grundstok Thunderers
The Grundstok Thunderers are coming in with 5 Missile Weapons, and is that a 36″ range? There’s not much in the game shooting that far, as of yet. These guys have 1 health and a 4+ save. So sit back, far back, and fire away!
Arkanaut Ironclad
This is the Mother Ship of all Ships coming in with a whopping 18 health! Throw in 7 different weapons to attack with, it’s own pretty much book of abilities, and this is one ship that will make you tremble in your scurvy boots.
The Kharadron Overlords have been much talked about since their announcement, but up until now we really didn’t know much about them. But now that is out the window and we’re shocked to say the least. These powerful little guys are coming in with a bang to put a hurting on Chaos!
What are your thoughts? Are you going to be picking any of the new Kharadron Overlords? If so, what are you planning on for your list build? This is sure to give you a good idea on where to start.
