Chaos Space Marines showed up in force with a great 5-0 at the Gateway Open from the weekend, as these Warhammer 40k army lists took the top!
The tournament is final, and now we can look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what these winners brought in their armies.

3rd Place: George Glassell – Blood Angels
2nd Place: Cory Schulz – Necrons
1st Place: Josh Wilson – Chaos Space Marines
Josh rode through the Gateway with a two detachment setup of Chaos Space Marines. The first is the arguably best unit that Chaos Space Marines have access to, even when he is in an Emperor’s Children list, and that is Abaddon! This guy is essentially a fraction of a percent weaker than Primarch’s status and is, in general, a massive force on the field, both thanks to his support abilities and his fantastic combat prowess rivaling Guilliman himself.
The second detachment is a battalion led by a Daemon Prince with Wings, a Dark Apostle, and a Lord Discordant. The Daemon Prince provides a great mobile body with a fantastic stat line and psychic powers. The Apostle provides support through prayers, while the Discordant is an absolute unit, fantastic at killing anything in its way with some minor support as well.
Troops bring in 20 Cultists for some cheap bodies and five legionaries, who provide much sturdier bodies and better stats all around.
Elites have 10 Possessed for some melee threats and 10 Terminators. They are running Combis and Accursed Weapons or Fist weapons, making them formidable in melee and decent and popping off shots while they run up the board.
Fast Attacks have a Spawn to round out the points, and Flyers bring in two Heldrakes for their great chip damage and mobility.
