Tyranids are swarming but Eldar still pulls through at the Rocky Top Rumble over the weekend, and these Warhammer 40k army lists took the top!
The tournament is over, and now we’re able to look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what these winners brought in their armies.
Rocky Top Rumble Super Major: Top 40k Army Lists
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we can look back at the event as if we were all there ourselves.

3rd Place: Joseph Gillespie – Tyranids
2nd Place: Steven Crawley – Tyranids
1st Place: Brad Chester – Eldar
Brad’s winning Eldar was a two detachment set up with the first being a patrol led by 2 Farseer Skyrunners, which are fantastic mobile psykers that can zip around the battle. A simple 5 rangers just fill the role requirement and 5 Howling Banshees at a legitimate melee threat if ignored.
5 Striking Scorpions also add more decent melee units that can threaten units on their own. Fast Attacks close out the first detachment with 10 Windriders adding a little bit more mobility for some fast models that can swing the numbers game in your favor in any gunfights.
The second detachment is a vanguard led by Baharroth, which is a great beat-stick with packed in support and mobility.
Troops bring in 10 Corsair Voidreavers, which are decent enough bodies that aren’t too expensive and can sit on objectives.
Elites bring in 10 Corsairs, a whopping 30 Dire Avengers, and 5 more Banshees, making for a ton of bodies with ranged attacks and a 5-man melee unit to sneak in hopefully full strength.
Fast attacks close out the whole list with 5 Swooping hawks and 5 more wind riders, making the list as a whole have a ton of bodies and mobility jam-packed together for an overall very effective list in the hands of Brad.
