It looks like Games Workshop is putting the nails in the coffin for Fantasy 8th. Come see the latest.

One GW store put out a notice on their Facebook that was quickly taken down, that they were putting all the ‘old’ fantasy stock on sale.

We also heard earlier in the week that items such as movements trays etc, would either be clearanced out, or sent back to GW HQ depending on the store.
Seems like these are nails in the coffin for Fantasy as we know it. Now checkout this tantalizing post that attempts to make sense of all this crazy Fantasy talk.

I hope no one upstairs at GW panics over the low pre-sales in the US. They are opening it on a major holiday
Also, I can’t see it being a complete re-boot because, as Turgol and others have said, there are too many hints in the End Times about races and characters escaping to somewhere else.
My guts say they are going to drastically re-vamp the minis and their corresponding terminology to have clearer legal standing to defend their IP from sketchy companies like Mantic who seem to only exist in the shadow of what GW has done. Remember how Mantic came out with the statement that they will immediately produce (likely slap-dash) rules for other armies outside their game system when the 9th rumors heated up? I’m not bashing them, but I think they need to become their own company and not simply react to what big brother is doing.
My point is that GW wants to update everything. The Lizardmen won’t be called Lizardmen anymore. You and I can nod and wink about it, but officially, they will be the Children of the Old Ones…or something, something, something they can copyright. As players, we’ll be encouraged to move away from the old models and terms. GW needs everything to fit into nice little parameters to get rid of the companies that mimic them. This will also likely be significant changes to the look of the minis.

Compelling points indeed for just idle internet banter. Plus checkout the Fantasy preview below, note the ‘Children of the Old Ones’?
