GW Announces More Shipping Delays & Some Good News Too

DelayedGames Workshop announced more shipping delays for all products, including Warhammer the Old World in North America amid bad weather.

Games Workshop has announced shipping delays in North America due to bad weather conditions in Memphis, TN. While they promise most deliveries within ten days, there could still be significant delays as operations resume.  You have probably heard from retailers that the Warhammer The Old World release was delayed from Memphis last week, but now there is an official statement from GW on the matter aimed at consumers.

GW Announces More Shipping Delays & Some Good News Too

Here is the latest from Games Workshop on the shipping delays in North America.

GW shipping updatesRetailers had heard about the issues leading up to the launch of the Old World.  However, this is Games Workshop’s first announcement to the general public. While many were probably hoping for some more promising info, GW can’t really do anything about the weather.

The good news is that the email they sent to retailers indicated they are prioritizing Old World product shipments over normal sales and other pre-orders. So, if you ordered Old World, this is good news, as they are trying to ship those products to both consumers and retailers. However, if you ordered something else, it’s not as good, and you might have to wait a bit longer now.

Bad weather conditions are causing significant delays for orders shipped from our North American warehouse. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

GW shipping updatesThey promise most deliveries within ten days but did add that the weather is affecting this and that your delivery depends on the distance from Memphis. Either way, for them to put this on the site means there could be significant delays in getting your orders as they haven’t given an exact time when they will arrive.

The Message to Retailers

warhammer the old world delayed

On Thursday, January 18th, Games Workshop emailed retailers in North America to officially announce a delay for Warhammer the Old World.

Due to inclement weather, our Memphis facility has been closed for several days this past week. As a result, your Warhammer The Old World order will not be arriving in time for launch. We know these orders are essential to you and your customers and will be prioritized once our warehouse reopens.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Currently, GW only has one warehouse for all of North America. With temps not climbing out of freezing most of last week, there was officially no North American release of Warhammer the Old World for the 20th of January.

memphis tnWhile the delay is frustrating for many customers, it’s reassuring to know that GW is prioritizing Old World product shipments over other pre-orders. Hopefully, the situation will improve soon, and customers will receive their orders as soon as possible.

How long do you think Warhammer the Old World Launch products will be delayed in North America due to the weather?
