GW Teases Shadowy New 40k Model & AoS Balance Update

new-teaser-gw-next-weekNo new Games Workshop pre-orders next week, but we are getting a new mystery 40k Warhammer model and an AoS update!

Games Workshop just let us in on their plan to hold off on new releases for a week, but instead are doing a model reveal instead along with some new AoS balance updates!

Let’s check out what we know about the news straight from Warhammer Community. But first, let’s recap the Tau model last week that also got the same treatment.

GW Reveals New Tau Codex, Darkstrider Model & Rules

Darkstrider Pathfinder

Before we go, we’ve seen one more Pathfinder sneaking around the edge of our vision, and we managed to catch a quick snap of them. Who could this be?

Did you wonder who the mysterious silhouetted figure was in our Kill Team article on the T’au Empire? It was none other than Sub-commander El’Myamoto, better known as Darkstrider.

The model is actually pretty interesting with him and the drones. Obviously, it’s much better than the old Finecast one and hey, it’s not Finecast! So that right there makes this way better. They also showed a couple of rules for the new mini.

The new miniature sees Darkstrider carefully releasing one of his drone familiars, with his trusty pulse carbine, Shade, tucked under his right arm.

This is a serious increase of both damage and AP from the last version, so nothing wrong with more firepower!

Darkstrider’s optical scanner incorporates a highly advanced structural analyser, enabling him to direct the fire of his kin at the weak points of their targets with ruthless precision.

This is very similar to his old ability. So not much changed here, we’ll just have to wait and see what else they give him in the new Tau Codex book!

Now let’s dive into that new teaser!

GW Teases Shadowy New 40k Model & AoS Balance Update12-19 model teaser

We might be coming to the end of the year, but there’s still time to reveal a few more miniatures coming in 2022. This one, for instance, will be leading… no, that would be telling.

We know far less about this model than we did about Darkstrider, so it’s a decent bit harder to place this time around! However, there are a few things to note. First, there’s the halo, which almost guarantees a loyalist SM release. There’s also what looks like a servitor floating above his shoulder… And last, there looks like there is a gauntlet bolter cable under his right fist, aiming towards a Gravis armor Character.

Might even be a new Gabriel Seth model, but we know that he doesn’t like Primaris very much at all…  GW wouldn’t release another new Lieutenant, would they?

Or perhaps it’s all a clever ploy and that is a Chaos “halo” and this mystery model is part of the upcoming heretic release that has been rumored for so long.

UPDATE: GW revealed the model the following day here.

Plus this mystery model is not the only thing coming this week! There’s also a new AoS balance update as well.

New AoS Stormcast Dragons 3

You may remember back when we looked at the dragons arriving in the Mortal Realms that we mentioned a balance update for Warhammer Age of Sigmar was on the way. We have more news on that front coming soon, so stay tuned to Warhammer-Community.com this week for more.

There’s not much to really say about this, but we do know this will most likely come in the form of a new FAQ just like the Warhammer 40k one.

So the real question becomes are anything other than the dragons going to be addressed? We figure yes, but we’ll all just have to wait and see until later this week!
