GW Elaborates on that Hefty Bandai Captain Price

bandai captainAs with the previous Bandai Space Marines figures, the new captain is sure to raise some eyebrows, here’s why it may be worth the price.

As seen with the weekly set of pre-orders, the new Captain is a whopping $240, but is it worth the price jump from the previous models being $100? In short, probably? But let’s check out why and weigh in on it all…

GW Fills Collectors in on that Hefty Bandai Space Marines Captain Price

Over the weekend, Warhammer Community put out a short post going over some of the specifics.

captain vs normal bandaiStanding around 8.5” tall including his crest, with 51 points of articulation, his proportions are in keeping with the other Bandai figures, as you would expect – but even chunkier, thanks to his Gravis armour. The long cape is removable, and you’ll also get a clenched fist option for the right hand.

Overall the captain is about the same size as the intercessor, with the added height of the halo and width of the armor. Even with just one look, you can tell this one is packed with detail and extras. The chain around his waist, the sword, gauntlet, cape, and more.

bandai captainThe final figure will be composed of injection-molded plastic and die-cast metal pieces, making the Ultramarines Captain feel even sturdier and more substantial than previous action figures. In fact, it’s nearly three times heavier, with the addition of those cast-metal internal components.

The addition of metal bits and an overall heavier model might make it easier to pose on the shelf, assuming all the joints can hold up that weight over time. The extra weight will also undoubtedly add a sense of quality in comparison to the previous Intercessor.

You can secure your Ultramarines Captain right now as a Made to Order item. But don’t delay – the order period will close on Tuesday, the 31st of August.

Bandai will produce the figures once the order period has closed, allowing about eight months for manufacturing and global distribution.

The Captain being Made to Order is huge as everyone who wants one can get it. There also seems to be a light confirmation that the wait for the figure after ordering will be around the same wait (2 months extra) as the previous figures, meaning we won’t see it for a while, but you should still get your reservation in as this will be $$$ on the secondary market.  Here’s the link to the figure over on GW’s webstore.

Speaking of which…

Bandai Space Marines Are Still Going For Crazy Money

bandai primaris marine 1You can still grab the last Bandai Space Marine Action Figures on eBay, but they are going from anywhere between $250-350, so again, if you want the new Captain don’t miss out and order it!

The captain being a higher price might mean that fewer people decide to get it and actually make the percent increase on the secondary market higher in the long run.

Ultimately if you want to get one you should because you will almost certainly get your money’s worth as far as the “value” on the secondary market is concerned afterward.

This Ultramarines action figure is available via Made to Order until 10 am on Tuesday 31st August 2021. Order yours today to avoid missing out!
