This new Forge World Horus Heresy Maloghurst miniature was one of Horus’ closest confidants and personal Icon bearer.
Warhammer Community unveiled the latest mini in the Legion Dispatch, the first in a regular series. Let’s just hope it’s a little more regular than the promised Ork series, but there’s still hope we see more Ork next Monday… Anyway, the mini is pretty sweet and even if you don’t play the game, could be used as a great kitbash for 40k.
If you don’t know much about him, he served in the Luna Wolves and the Sons of Horus throughout many campaigns in the Great Crusade. He was seriously injured in a crash, but that didn’t keep Horus from utilizing him. When the whole Heresy thing kicked off, he followed Horus into the madness as his Personal Icon bearer.
GW Reveals New Forge World Horus Heresy Maloghurst
Maloghurst was a veteran legionary that served the Luna Wolves and Sons of Horus throughout numerous campaigns during the Great Crusade. Earning the nickname ‘Twisted’ due to his formidable mind. The title took on a cruel double meaning when enemy forces shot down his transport during the pacification of planet 63-19, and he was left badly injured. Afterwards, Horus sent a communique to the entire Legion banning the usage of unkind nicknames.
When the heresy kicked off, Maloghurst proved himself to be one of the Warmaster’s closest confidants. While his injuries meant that he could no longer fulfil the role of frontline warrior. He was awarded the honour of carrying Horus’ personal icon.
They don’t say when the mini will be released, but they do say soon. Some of the Horus Heresy minis revealed have come out quickly after the initial announcement and some took about a year. So let’s just hope this one is the former. His rules are from the Horus Heresy Book Two – Massacre, so you can use him right when he comes out.
