GW Teases New Faction For Necromunda

necromunda hor walpaperGW teased a new faction for Necromunda, and it looks like the Redemptionist Cult may be coming back to cleanse the Underhive – check it out!

On the Warhammer Community post, they didn’t reveal any full minis but did give plenty to go off of. It’s been a really, really long time since they’ve had new minis, and we would love to see some! Let’s jump into it!

Redemptionist Cult Coming Back to Necromunda

2021 roadmapFirst up, here’s the roadmap released for Necromunda. We know everything coming out until we hit the 4th quarter and we think there is a strong case for the Redemptionists! It also makes sense they wouldn’t want to release Cawdor and then the Redemptionists. We need one-quarter of non-zealots to cool down a little. If they are coming out with a truly new gang, it would make sense for them to use something that has a basis in the lore instead of coming out with something entirely new.

But now let’s look at the new pics!

Teaser Pics

Redemptionists cults

Not too many other cults would be seen just lifting books up to the sky in the middle of battle, but when you have to bring redemption to the masses, you need your books ready. They also mention a bunch of Pilgrim Cant has been found graffitied on the walls, who else other than Cawdor might do that? hmmm…

Could They be new Cawdor?

cawdor gang

When you look at Cawdor, they have a much dirtier look and no books to be found. Also, let’s look at the weapons, which look way too clean to be from them and a little more exotic. Not only that, they mention there were some pamphlets on the ground whenever the killings happen. We don’t think Cawdor is too worried about giving out pamphlets when they kill people, but they might.

Redemption kit The modified shotgun does look like something Cawdor could use, but they would have to clean up the look like crazy for this to work for them. And the Eviscerator Chainsword is nothing like they have now. The old Redemptionists have plenty of weapons that matches up perfectly with that type of weapon.

Comparing Them to Old Minis

redemptionists gang

Well, they literally have all of the same weapons! If you look at this and compare them to the weapon pics from the WC post, they are so similar. First up, the Eviscerator Chainsword looks just like a revamped version of the old one with the flamer on the inside instead of on the bottom. Even the back handle is identical, so pretty hard to deny that it is them.

Now if you look at the shotguns, again they are almost identical. Lastly, the guy holding the book is so close to the first pic, we can’t think about this any other way. While we don’t see a servo skull, that’s something they’ve been adding to all kinds of stuff, so no worries there.

The last thing we’ll mention is the arson, who else other than this cult would burn everything?

Would you like to see them be the unknown gang? Do you think they are the Q4 Gang?
