Today we’ll take a look at how to get the AoS Battleforces up to 2000 Points, and get a full army on the tabletop!
The holidays are right around the corner and with them, the yearly AoS battleforces, which are great values to get loads of miniatures at once. If you bought one for yourself or happen to receive one wrapped up with a nice bow on top, lucky you!
Let’s look at expanding on these boxes to get yourself to a 2000-point army.

Hedonites of Slaanesh
Let’s start with the Hedonites of Slaanesh in the box you get the following:
- 1 Shardspeaker of Slaanesh: 150 Points, Leader 1 of 6
- 3 Slaangor Fiendbloods: 150 Points, No Unit Type
- 5 Slickblade Speakers: 230 Points, No Unit Type
- 5 Symbaresh Twinsouls: 185 Points, No Unit Type
- 5 Myrmidesh Painbringers: 160 Points, No Unit Type
- 10 Blissbarb Archers with Homonculus: 180 Points, Battleline 1 of 3
- Total 1055 Points
A solid start but you are light on leaders and need another 2 battlelines. But if you take a Lord of Pain as your general now you have all three battleline units, then let’s add Sigvald because it’s Sigvald! After that Shalaxi Helbane and then since Slaanesh mortal stuff is so costly in points we need to dip into Slaves to Darkness to grab a chaos sorcerer lord to round out this list.

You will be getting depravity points to summon in units so eventually, you will need to add in some daemons, but this is a largely mortal chaos army that is fun to see on a battlefield. I would select Pretenders to beef up my Lord of Pain and count on my leader characters to do most of the work in this army.
There is a lot of room for growth though if instead of more mortals you want to add some start collecting boxes and do a mix of daemons and mortals. I think eventually you will see these decrease in points as they are a little pricey but man, they are some fantastic models.
Lumineth Realm-Lords
Next, let’s jump into the Lumineth Realm-lords and see what you get in the box:
- Lyrior Uthralle, Warden of Ymetrica: 215 Points, Leader 1 of 6
- 1 Vanari Bannerblade: 120 Points, Leader 2 of 6
- 1 Vanari Starshard Ballista: 125 Points, Artillery 1 of 4
- 5 Vanari Bladelords: 130 Points, no Unit Type
- 5 Vanari Dawnriders: 140 Points, Battleline 1 of 3
- 10 Vanari Auralan Wardens: 245 Points, Battleline 2 of 3
- Total 875 Points
Any interesting box set as it is a core set of the army including a good mix of units. We need to add an additional battleline unit, then I am going to add a second ballista and focus on a more missile weapon-oriented list. Then I am going to add some magic and the Light of Eltharion because I love the model and his stat line is nothing to sneeze at.

By taking the Windchargers as a battleline troop is going to force users to play as the great nation of Helon. Which just so happens to be great for missile troops, so it works out for this list. You’re going to zoom around the battlefield pinging troops with your archers, while your foot soldiers and cavalry take those objectives. Just be careful because these low models count army without any monsters is going to need to stay alive as much as possible to maintain control of objectives.
Next up is the Ossiarch Bonereapers, starting with what you get in the box:
- Mortisan Boneshaper: 135 Points, Leader 1 of 6
- Mortisan Soulreaper: 115 Points, Leader 2 of 6
- Mortek Crawler: 215 Points, Artillery 1 of 4, Behemoth 1 of 4
- Gothizzar Harvester: 215 Points, Behemoth 2 of 4
- 3 Necropolis Stalkers: 180 Points, No Unit Type
- 10 Mortek Guard: 140 Points, Battleline 1 of 3
- 10 Mortek Guard: 140 Points, Battleline 2 of 3
- Total 1140 Points
This is a solid battle box, while not the most competitive Bonereapers units, you do get over 50% of your points from it which is a great value. Also, these units are some of the most unique and coolest in the Bonereapers line, so I am not mad at it. Let’s stick with the behemoths and build around those models in this list while adding another Guard to round out your battleline.

- Gothizzar Harvester: 215 Points, Behemoth 4 of 4
- 3 Necropolis Stalkers: 180 Points, No Unit Type
- 10 Mortek Guard: 140 Points, Battleline 1 of 3
- 10 Mortek Guard: 140 Points, Battleline 2 of 3
- 10 Mortek Guard: 140 Points, Battleline 3 of 3
- Total 1995 Points
This is an army where we are going to focus on bringing back your skeletons with the Harvesters and Arkhan the Black. For this I like the Crematorians as a faction to get the exploding skeletons, so you charge in and hit, they hit back and take exploding skeleton damage, you bring them back and rinse and repeat. Is it the most competitive? No, but it is a really cool narrative and lets you play with tons of the impressive behemoth models they have.
Soulblight Gravelords
Finally, we get another Death Faction in the Soulblight Gravelords, starting with what you get in the box:
- Vengorian Lord: 280 Points, Leader 1 of 6
- 5 Blood Knights: 195 Points, No Unit Type
- 20 Deathrattle Skeletons: 170 Points, Battleline 1 of 3
- 40 Deadwalker Zombies: 230 Points, Battleline 2 of 3
- Total 875 Points
After that, we are going to add a start collecting Soulblight Gravelords, another unit of Deadwalkers, a Corpse Cart to buff them, a couple of vampires, and sprinkle in a few necromancers to get to the following list.

- Vengorian Lord: 280 Points, Leader 2 of 6
- Vampire Lord: 140 Points, Leader 3 of 6
- Necromancer: 125 Points, Leader 4 of 6

- 20 Deathrattle Skeletons: 170 Points, Battleline 1 of 3
- 60 Deadwalker Zombies: 345 Points, Battleline 2 of 3
- 20 Grave Guard: 280 Points, Battleline 3 of 3
- 5 Blood Knights: 195 Points, No Unit Type
- 5 Black Knights: 120 Points, No Unit Type
- Corpse Cart with Unholy Loadstone: 80 Points, No Unit Type

I hope you like painting models cause this army has a ton of them! You’re going to do a slow march across the battlefield bringing back any summonable models that go down while hopefully winning out in the magic phase. I would consider either Legion of Blood or Vykros Dynasty for this army as they are able to take the most advantage of the large blocks of summonable units you have. With some buffs and decent dice rolls, you can overcome most heroes by just throwing zombie after zombie at them to claw them down. Just like all those old-school zombie movies.
There you have it taking each of the battle boxes and building them out to 2000 points. They are all a great value and give you a wide range of models for that faction, though if you are looking to streamline a competitive army I would think the Realm Lords are the best box to do that for.
