Kragnos and Lord KroakThese are the two giant minis we’re unboxing today! This is the first refresh for Kroak in about 20 years and is way more dynamic than the old one. He is going for $115. Kragnos goes for $160 and is just a gigantic mini! He’s so many points Rob isn’t even sure he’ll be able to fit into his army list.

Lord Kroak

Lord Kroak instructionsThe instructions are pretty well laid out, but there are definitely some very fiddly parts and ornamentation. There are just vines everywhere, so that might be annoying to put them all on.

Lord Kroak instructions 2Building the pieces that circle around the mini might be a little hard. Mainly because all the vines and such actually help hold up the mini. You will just have to dry-fit a lot of the pieces and make sure it works before throwing any glue on. Rob recommends using the Tamiya Extra Thin Cement for the small pieces to make building easier.

Sprues Lord Kroak

Sprues Lord Kroak 2You get one normal size sprue and one-half sprue in there. It seems kind of crazy it will fit on an 80mm base. The sprues are super detailed and there are a lot of nubs and slots to help when you are building it.

Built Lord Kroak

Lord Kroak builtRob did this in a 3-part assembly. With the throne, Lord Kroak, and then the headdress. This will just make painting so much easier.

Lord Kroak built 2The detail on this is just insane when you get it all built up. There are some mold lines to cut, but nothing too crazy. The little helper on the right actually glues to the model, but you can just not glue it and paint it separately.

Lord Kroak built 3Kroak himself has two head options, but you do have to pick it as you’re building.

Kroak size comparisonHe’s obviously much larger than a Stormcast!

Kroak size comparison 2When compared to Alarielle, she’s much bigger, but we expected that.

Kragnos

Kragnos instructionsThe instructions are very well laid out again, and Rob expects this to go together fairly smoothly. It’s a lot of parts though, so be sure to dry-fit everything and make sure it’s all nice and square. But seriously, dry-fit everything!

Kragnos instructions 2There is a ton of ornamentation, which might make painting it a little harder if you’re trying to airbrush it. From the looks of it though, you’ll have to just airbrush that and then come back and paint the rest by hand. He has two different options of heads, different mouths, and you can pick the direction his head is facing.

Kragnos

Kragnos sprueAt over 700 points, not sure how many armies are going to actually take him. Still, you get two giant sprues that are super detailed and a 130mm base.

Built Mini

Kragnos builtRob didn’t glue him to the base because there is just so much to paint on the model, so hopefully, that will make painting easier.

Kragnos built 3

Kragnos built 2The model looks amazing when built up! He slots into the base fairly easily and there is just so much detail. Not sure if he will find his way into Rob’s Ogor army, but it just looks so amazing. There is also just so much room for expressing yourself painting-wise with this model.

Kragnos sizeNeedless to say, he towers over the Stormcast!

Kragnos size 2He’s basically the same size as Alarielle, so you know he’s a giant!
