Luther has escaped The Rock and Marbas is massing the Fallen for what could be final showdown with the Dark Angels!
We knew in 8th edition that Luther had escaped, but a new story in the Dark Angels codex hints at what is going to happen now! It looks like The Fallen Daemon Prince Marbas may be finally leading the showdown with the Dark Angels we have all wanted this for a long time. Could GW actually reveal a new wrinkle in the story and lay some things to rest forever? Well, we’ll just have to see on that!
The Fallen are Amassing against the Dark Angels!
If you have the codex the new info is on pg. 26, as it looks like Marbas is preparing to launch an all-out assault on the Dark Angels! Why else would he amass such a giant force? There could be so many crazy battles to fight and new lore to be created! One thing is for sure, the Somnium Stars may take a leading role in the coming lore for the First Legion. And with more and more attacks still threatening The Rock, the Dark Angels seem to be a little shaky, but you know they will fight to the bitter end against the fallen.
We can only imagine significant and unprecedented numbers of The Fallen gathering must eventually lead to some kind of a showdown. Or maybe this is just a little story and GW will never do anything with it… We hope not! This would be such a perfect storyline for one of their supplements like Warzone Charadon, and could really bring more depth to this ancient rivalry.

If you don’t know much about Marbas, he’s been plaguing the Dark Angels for Centuries and nearly killed Sammael! If it weren’t for the meddling Belial, he would have fallen to the Daemon Prince for sure.
This makes him the second most hated enemy of the Dark Angels, right after Cypher. His attacks on The Rock seemed random at first, but his main goal was to free Luther. Now that he is no longer in the clutches of the Dark Angels, what role will Luther have in the clutches of Marbas? We’ll just have to wait and see, but we hope it actually comes to a head and we can get a giant battle for all the marbles.
