Today we’re getting a look at another new miniature that will be making his debut after the Malign Portents. You’re not going to want to miss this!
Age of Sigmar is going to be getting really dark with the release of Malign Portents coming next year. Today we’re getting a look at another very interesting character courtesy of Games Workshop. With only 8 days left in the countdown let’s see what they had to show us this time.
The Fungoid Cave-Shaman is amongst the greatest seers in the Mortal Realms. While the other champions in Malign Portents draw their strength from mysterious patronage, ingenuity, training or providence, the Fungoid Cave-Shaman is powered by a liberal attitude towards the consumption of hallucinogenic fungus. Where some grots may have been left as gibbering lunatics, the Fungoid Cave-Shaman has been granted strange and arcane powers allowing him to predict the dark events to come. He is also, by any sensible measure, a gibbering lunatic.
Covered head to toe in mushrooms and weird growths the new Fungoid Cave-Shaman uses strange and arcane powers that will help him predict the dark events to come. But, from the sound of it, not all grots were as lucky as this guy. We could really use him right about now to help make sense of all of the previews we’ve seen so far.
We got the announcement of Malign Portents back in August when they dropped this teaser video on us.
That’s also when we got our first look at the Knight of Shrouds.
And Darkoath Warqueen, the newly appointed Chaos champion.
If you remember the Darkoath Chieftain from Warhammer Quest Silver Tower, this warrior woman is his boss – although unlike standard bosses, she’s more likely to deal with sub-par performance by ripping someone’s throat out with her teeth instead of giving them a 5 point list of actions to improve on (unless those actions are “tear the hearts from your enemies” and “despoil the realms in the name of the dark gods” and so on).
Part V: The Village
The Village is giving us another convoluted look into the grim dark future of Age of Sigmar. The people in this village are floating off the ground with glowing eyes, not really revealing much…
Part IV: The Falling Star
Part IV: The Falling Star is definitely a puzzling one. Who could possibly be represented by the falling star? What could the mean for the future of Age of Sigmar in this much darker time?
Part III: The Icon
We almost didn’t catch this one at first. In part three we got a look at a statue, but for a brief second, when the lightning strikes, you see the statue become a skeleton. So what are these shadows gathering in Sigmar’s kingdoms?
Part II: The Ship
We got a preview of a dock with a big ship at the end of it, and it has some extremely battered sails giving it an extremely dark look.
Part I: The Field
Here we got a look at a mysterious field outside of a structure, and very quickly you see a skull in the moon flash in the moon.
Are these teasers revealing anything to you? Can you make sense of what’s to come?
Games Workshop also dropped this teaser a couple weeks ago showing us three things the Malign Portents means for AoS.
The age of hope is dead and GW is making sure we know it with the AoS logo getting all little more dark and gloomy.
So far this is everything we’ve seen and know about the Malign Portents, and we can’t wait to find out more. Just how dark will Age of Sigmar be getting? You’ll have to check back in with us to find out, we’ll be putting out updates as soon as we get them.
What do you think about Malign Portents? Are you looking for to AoS becoming a little more grim? Will you be picking up the Fungoid Cave-Shaman? Let us know in the comments below.
