A Sisters of Battle list grabs a spot behind the best armies as a new homebrew Warhammer 40k army list emerged at the Michigan GT!
9th Edition’s meta is again in flux, but some players take lists with units that nobody expected. Check out this awesome homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend. This shows us that sometimes it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play.
Michigan GT Championship: Top 40k Homebrew Army List
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings, we can look back at the event as if we were all there ourselves. Check out the details here.
If you wanted to see the names and factions of the overall winners, we’ve included that below.
However, we aren’t covering all those lists. Instead, we will look at just one of our favorites this week.
Michigan GT Championship: Alex Ing – Adepta Sororitas 8th Place
Sisters of Battle aren’t really off-meta, but we still haven’t been saying them too much lately, which is why it’s great to see Alex get some decent success with them!
Their list is entirely inside a single battalion led by Celestine and Morvenn Vahl, both of which are possibly the biggest names in the faction! Both of these characters are killing machines with decent support abilities caked in.
Troops have 15 Battle Sisters, the standard option for the faction.
Elites have six units; two Dogmatas provide War Hymn support to the list. Three Paragon Warsuits are some slightly more elite models with decent weapons and durability, making for good all-in-one threats.
Finishing the section are 25 Sisters Repentia, which are completely melee devoted threats if they can make the charge.
Fast Attacks have 14 Zephyrim for mobile models that can zip around the map and help wherever your forces need it.
Heavy Support brings in two squads of Retributors which are the primary anti-armor foot-slogging ranged threats. Nothing much else to that!
Finally, the list closes out with a Rhino to round out points and add a vehicle for a unit during the early turns!
