Mutalith Vortex & Slaughterbrute Get An Update For AoS!

Slaughterbrute Wal HorThe Mutalith Vortex and Slaughterbrute have had their warscrolls updated and are now even more playable in Age of Sigmar. This is a must see for Chaos fans.

Warhammer Community announced the rules update over the weekend, and it looks like it’s going to be a nice new addition for any Khorne or Tzeentch army. Let’s take a look at what they had to say.Vortex Beast

The Mutalith Vortex Beast is a nightmare of twisting magical power, bound to a gigantic… thing, with tentacles, literally for a face, that radiates the pure stuff of Chaos.

Slaughterbrute

The Slaughterbrute on the other hand is a wrath-fueled avalanche of muscle and rage, that can smash enemy regiments to splinters, rend the largest monsters limb-from limb and smash enemy champions to a fine paste.

In your games, both of these monstrous spawn-beasts are pretty handy in a fight. The Mutalith compliments its innate durability with the ability heal D3 wounds every turn, and the has the added bonus of potentially doing mortal wounds to nearby enemy units in each of your hero phases. The Slaughterbrute is a bit less subtle: it just smashes stuff – classic Khorne.

The rules update for these two models is going to make them usable again for Tzeentch and Khorne armies. The Mutalith heals D3 wounds, while the Slaughterbrute deals D3 damage to the closest model within 3″ if he doesn’t have a master.

These monstrous creatures are pretty durable with 12 health and a 4+ save. Why wouldn’t you want these guys fighting on your front line? What do you think about the new update? Are you going to be using the Slaughterbrute or Mutalith in your army?
