Necron Clean Sweep: Top 40k Army Lists Orange County Classic GT
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings, we can look back at the event as if we were all there ourselves.
3rd Place: Mark Ferek – Tau
2nd Place: Logan Heath – Death Guard
1st Place: Joel Wilson – Necrons
Joel’s winning Necrons featured a 2 detachment setup. The first was a Vanguard led by Illuminor Szeras and a Chronomancer. Szeras helps with reanimation protocol and has a handy anti-psyker ability. The Chronomancer can help with charge rolls and gives out a 5+ invuln.
Elites have 10 Lychguard, which are decent melee models, and 18 Skorpekh Destroyers which are great large melee models that have to be dealt with, or else they will wipe out entire squads.
Fast Attacks bring in 6 Scarab Swarms to be a pain and wrap up ranged units in melee or even serve as meat shields. And closing out the first detachment is Lokhust Destroyers which serve as the main anti-armor ranged units for the list.
Finally, closing out the list, the second detachment, which only has the Silent King in it. The Silent King is a fantastic model, giving the Necrons fantastic support abilities and being pretty good in combat himself as well!
At his price point, he is simply too good for Necron players not to consider.
