Orruk Warclans New Rules Will Bring Down Monsters!

aos-3.0-kruelboyzThe new AoS 3.0 Orruk rules will help you bring down big monsters, shoot more, and cast bigger spells than ever before!

We’ve been seeing a decent amount of what to expect in the new book and they seem to be powering up. This is also one of the first times where we see rules for something that is specifically not Kruleboyz, so that’s pretty sweet.

Warhammer Community just unveiled all the new rules with three different sets of rules. There’s a lot of rules to get into, so let’s do it!

New AoS 3.0 Orruk Rules Will Bring Down Monsters!

savage orrukIf you suspect that your opponent might be about to field an army full of gargant-sized monstrosities, first flood the battlefield with Battleline Savage Orruks armed with chompas. This provides a respectable 10 Bonesplitterz per unit, for a total of 20 Attacks, wounding on a 2+ if you charge – and even if you don’t topple your foe, you might injure a Monster enough to reduce its attack profile, softening them up for your most devastating units.

With 20 attacks wounding on 2’s against monsters, you should really be able to dish out the damage with Savage Orruks.

Orruk rulesThe Kruleboyz’ new Beast-skewer Killbows are perfect for bringing down the juiciest quarry. When you roll for damage, you roll a die for each Wound the target has. With a bit of luck they can take a big chunk out of a Mega-Gargant or stop a raging Bloodthirster in the middle of its killing spree.

One-shot can do some serious damage, and as they said, if you shoot against a Mega-Gargant you should be able to stack up a ton of wounds.

WAAAGH!

New Kruleboyz rules 5It works like this – you bring together a grand coalition of different greenskins, who then egg each other on to feets of violence and savagery and build up Waaagh! points throughout the game. Once you hit certain thresholds, things get silly in the best possible way.

Who doesn’t love a good WAAAGH!? Similar to 40k Orks, it looks like you’ll get to trigger different parts throughout the game. This one is just insane, where for the rest of the game everything will get an extra attack, which is just a super good army-wide buff.

Shooting Rules

Brave ShootazMan-skewer Boltboyz and Beast-skewer Killbows both have a range of 24”, and they hit on a 2+ if you don’t move. If you choose the Big Yellers warclan, you get to add 3” to that range. Not bad at all, especially when you consider that Boltboyz are Battleline units in a Big Yellers army. Go wild! That gives your Arrowboys 3 Attacks each. A few units of these unlikely archers will make your opponents think twice about sending in all but the hardest units.

Getting 3 attacks each is pretty strong, but with your Boltboyz hitting on 2’s if they don’t move that should net you plenty of damage.

New Spells

Choking MistKruleboyz Wizards have access to the all-new Lore of the Swamp, with sneaky spells that will put a damper on your opponent’s plans, like Choking Mist.

The Kruleboyz will have a ton of debuffing spells and most effect multiple units. So that means they will be really strong.

Bash em ladzIronjawz Wizards use the Lore of the Weird, drawing on the energy of nearby orruks to drive them into a killing frenzy, among other things.

Since this is also AOE, it is very powerful because you could add to the wound rolls for 3 units.

Orruk Rules 2The Lore of the Savage Beast is available to all Bonesplitterz Wizards, allowing them to possess their kin with atavistic wrath.

This gives a bunch of buffs to a single unit, the only downside is they can’t shoot, but you’re probably not casting this on your shooting units.

What do you think about the rules? Are you excited about the new book?
