New AoS 3.0 Stormcast & Kruleboyz Rules Warscrolls & Points
There’s a lot to go through, considering how many warscrolls there are, so let’s jump right into it! Just to note, we’ve already seen some of these previewed, but we’re putting them all here to make it easier!
Kruleboyz Points
With the new edition, it feels like they are doing what they did with 40k, by raising points. Not that we know what these would have been before, but the points do seem kind of high. With the Gutrippaz coming in at 18 points a model, it might set what to expect with the coming FAQ to all points.
The Kruleboyz even have their own extra allegiance ability, Venom-encrusted Weapons, which is every bit as nasty as it sounds! What’s more, they gain this ability whether you field an army consisting exclusively of Kruleboyz or use them as part of a larger Orruk Warclans force.
The Allegiance Ability is kind of insane that every model in the army has this! It just gives big units the ability to dish out serious damage no matter what they’re fighting. On top of that, the Shaman can brew a potion to make a unit do this on a 5+. Now let’s check out the warscrolls for the Kruleboyz!
Kruleboyz Warscrolls
With 2 wounds each, and the ability to scare the enemy into hitting them at a -1, these are pretty decent. Still, for their Battleline unit, 18 points is a little pricey.
Because only one unit can make use of Inspiring Presence, All Part of Da Plan can save you some serious casualties. On top of that, he has a decent stat line and can negate wounds onto his poor Stab Grot. Press F for that adorable little guy…
The spell doesn’t seem crazy when you first look at it. But casting an army-wide buff is pretty powerful. If you can get this off every turn, it will just be really annoying for your opponent. While helping you get stuck in that much easier. On top of that, the potions really give you even more power, so if you play them, this will be in like every list.
Lastly, the shooty boyz of the army. You can either run the Hobgrots around throwing grenades or go with the Boltboyz. The Boltboyz can dish out a decent amount of damage, so not a bad choice for your shooting. We also know they’ll have some artillery, but haven’t seen those warscrolls yet.
Stormcast Points
Yndrasta is coming in at a hefty 300 points with only 8 wounds, but when she’s paired with the Praetors, she becomes nigh unkillable. Doing mortals on a 5+ or 6+ when your minis die is pretty nice, but isn’t anything too crazy. Let’s check out the warscrolls!
Stormcast Warscrolls
The new centerpiece mini for the Stormcast has all kinds of special rules. She doesn’t have a ton of attacks but each one has the ability to really dish out a ton of damage. Being able to revive minis once per game is pretty nice and not taking battleshock tests will make her very effective at buffing up units.
If you really want to bring models back to life, then you need this! If you pick one unit 3 times, like the Praetors, you can bring up to 3d3 wounds worth of minis back. Meaning you could easily bring 2 back and keep them going.
The Lord-Imperatant is just a decent all-around leader, with the rule to use a command ability for free, revive minis, and a decent stat line.
The bodyguard ability is pretty insane. Because not only do they have the ability to take the wound for your hero, they also have the ability, 33% of the time, to just ignore the wound altogether. If you combine this with raising them back from the dead, you will have a unit and hero that are just insanely hard to kill.
Are you excited about the new rules? Will you be picking up the Dominion box?
