THE STORY

The Horus Heresy Book 43: Shattered Legions

THE STORY

The Horus Heresy Book 44: The Crimson King

THE STORY
As their home world of Prospero burned, Magnus the Red spirited the Thousand Sons away to the aptly unnamed Planet of the Sorcerers, deep within the Eye of Terror. Removed from the concerns of the galaxy at large and regarding the Warmaster’s unfolding Heresy with cold detachment, Magnus has dedicated his hollow existence to the preservation of all the knowledge once held in the great libraries of Tizca – safeguarded for the day that Humanity seeks enlightenment once more.

But the sons of Magnus can see the change in their primarch – he is a broken soul, whose mind and memories are slipping away into the tumult of the warp. Only by returning to the scenes of his greatest triumphs and tragedies can they hope to restore him, and allow the Crimson King to be crowned anew by the Ruinous Powers.

The Horus Heresy Book 45: Tallarn

THE STORY
As the Warmaster’s campaign for galactic domination continues, his generals seek fresh battlefields to conquer. Abandoning the cursed crone world of Iydris, Perturabo strikes for Tallarn. A bitter, vengeful primarch, the lord of the Iron Warriors unleashes a vicious bombardment that reduces the verdant agri world to a scorching desert, killing millions and entrenching the survivors.

Shielded from the poisoned wasteland only by their armoured vehicles, both sides are locked into a brutal, all-consuming campaign of mechanised warfare – one that will grind down every combatant over more than a year of relentless battle. But Perturabo’s motives are more than mere punitive destruction against the Imperium – the Lord of Iron has an entirely darker purpose in mind.

This brutal collection contains two short stories, one novella, and a novel, all written by John French.
