Hasbro has announced a new D&D Starter Set: Dragons of Stormwreck Isle will be coming soon for $50! Check out what we know so far.
In a trailer of what’s on deck for the year, they revealed a few little shots of what the new starter will look like. The Innovative Play and Entertainment Lineup trailer showed all kinds of new toys and games coming from the company, but the most interesting part is probably the D&D stuff.
The price of the set has been revealed along with what will be inside, and the booklets look fairly small, so we expect them to be trying to streamline the rules.
According to the video, it will be for all ages and retail for $49.99, whereas the previous starter sets went for a retail price of $19.99.
Update: According to a tweet by the head of D&D game design, the price stated in this video pertaining to the new starter set may have been in error, however, it does not directly reference this announcement, and the tweets it replies to have been deleted. Sources have said this was in indeed reference to the $50 price, and we have no way to verify this information.
New D&D Starter: Dragons of Stormwreck Isle Announced
The set was spotted in the corner of one of the panels but not much other than that was shown. So, we don’t know the release date or much more quite yet, however, we did see the price. It will be $49.99 meaning a slight increase in price. The booklets look quite thin, but you also grab some dice, cards, and of course the book. So we’ll have to see what changes up and how they release it.
This was about all we’ve got for now, but keep your eyes peeled as we’ll be keeping track of the release! If you want to see everything on the Hasbro schedule, check out the full video below.
Some interesting stuff in there, so keep an ear out for tons more Hasbro stuff!
