Space Marines Terminator Command $60

For next weeks hot releases we have some epic new “second generation” box sets that contain both old and new models, bundled together at a great savings over purchasing them separately. Then we have some “Second Edition” updates to the Chaos Supplements (which look to contain some combination of new rules), as well as, a new supplement for loyalist Space Marines containing both new and old formations.

All for the low low price of $33 for what appears to be a soft cover book, another value.  Moving forward I think GW has some great ideas about cranking out content by updating existing content first (Orks, Chaos Supplements, Montkas etc) as well as producing new collections of existing rules (Angels of Death, Farsight conclave).

Next I would expect to see the first full codex reprints (call them “second editions” for lack of a better term) with the existing faction rules, and then the new rules that we got previously as separate collections.

second edition

For instance a year from now could we see a Second Edition Space Marine codex updated with the Montka rules PLUS what’s in the Angels of Death book? I’m thinking why they heck not?

I mean let’s face it, GW has a knack for getting hobbyists to buy the same stuff over and over again. Plus judging by the excitement level of today for what is basically repackaged material with a sprinkle of new hotness, hobbyists will keep on consuming it!
