We’ve seen all 18 Horus Heresy Contemptor Dreadnought Upgrades, but the first six have just hit pre-order along with the Exodus and Esoterist Consul!
If you play any of these six legions, this might be the release for you. Plus, this week, there will be two new minis, and it looks like the marine upgrade kits keep coming.
Warhammer Community unveiled the pre-order, and they should be shipped on 3/25/2023. Let’s hop into it!
Dark Angels Contemptor Dreadnought Upgrade Set: $39
This upgrade kit customises a Contemptor Dreadnought with a new resin head and torso, themed around the Dark Angels Legion. The head has a distinctive gothic appearance, while the torso sports the winged armourial of the I Legion in the form of a sword-wielding angel statuette, alongside elements like studded armour bands, chains, and a baroque, shrine-like hood with votive candles to honour the fallen warrior inside. It’s perfect for adding the I Legion look to your mighty Contemptor Dreadnoughts.
Sons of Horus: $39
This upgrade kit customises a Contemptor Dreadnought with a new resin head and torso, themed around the Sons of Horus Legion. The head has a distinctive Cthonian appearance, while the torso sports the Eye of Horus – the fearsome armourial of the XVI Legion – alongside elements like sculpted flame-trim, angular plating, and armour spikes. It’s perfect for adding the XVI Legion’s classic look to your mighty Contemptor Dreadnoughts.
Imperial Fists: $39
White Scars Contemptor Dreadnought Upgrade Set: $39
This upgrade kit customises a Contemptor Dreadnought with a new resin head and torso, themed around the White Scars Legion. The head has a distinctive visored appearance, while the torso incorporates the stylised lightning bolt armourial of the V Legion alongside elements like a flowing topknot, a beaten-metal decorative plate, and strings of Chogorian charms. It’s perfect for adding the V Legion’s classic look to your mighty Contemptor Dreadnoughts.
Iron Warriors Contemptor Dreadnought Upgrade Set: $39
This upgrade kit contains 2 resin components designed to be assembled with the plastic Contemptor Dreadnought, which is sold separately. These components are supplied unpainted and require assembly.
Emperor’s Children: $39
This upgrade kit customises a Contemptor Dreadnought with a new resin head and torso, themed around the Emperor’s Children Legion. The head has a distinctive Phoenician appearance, while the torso sports an ornate Palatine Aquila – the exclusive honour of the III Legion – alongside elements like decorative scrollwork, a fluted hood, and the Legion’s winged claw armourial. It’s perfect for adding the III Legion’s classic look to your mighty Contemptor Dreadnoughts.
Traitor Esoterist Consul: $43
With the Heresy in full swing, the Traitor Legions are free to explore the forbidden arts anew – and the Esoterist Consul steps out from the shadows. No matter how fiercely the Emperor suppressed the Primordial Truth, there were always those willing to explore the Immaterium’s secrets – whether to ward off its eldritch denizens, or harness their unnatural power.
Exodus – The One Who Is Many: $56
Sometimes, however, clever disguises and unseen infiltration aren’t a match for power armour, and a really big gun designed for the express purpose of annihilating Astartes is what you need. Enter Exodus, the Assassin.
Raven Guard MKVI Heads: $25
Three styles of helmet reinforce their corvid credentials with subtle accentuations and extra sensors, while the bare head sports a slicked-back ‘do, and there’s a special helmet with a transverse crest made of – what else – raven feathers. The decadence!
Raven Guard MKVI Shoulder Pads: $25
When you’ve got a name like Corvus Corax, there’s no way you’re not putting a bird on everything you can get your hands on. The Legion’s shoulder pad upgrade pack features a sculpted Raven emblem, delivering you from the extra steps of freehand or transfers.
Alpha Legion MKVI Heads: $25
The serpentine iconography evokes the Legion’s adoption of the hydra as a symbol of their protean ways, reforming after every setback and returning with more teeth than before. Bladed, scale-like ornamentation adds a sinister Helac aesthetic to the sleek lines of your beaked helms.
Alpha Legion MKVI Shoulder Pads: $25
The writhing, multi-headed logo of the Alpha Legion adorns their sculpted shoulder pads – perfect for anyone who balked at painting this intricate insignia with freehand alone. Spruce up your MKVI Tactical Squads, sprinkle in other upgrade parts, and your slippery soldiers will be ready to be fielded as any number of unit types found in Liber Hereticus – Traitor Legiones Army Book.
Legiones Astartes – Character Heads Upgrade Set 1: $25
This upgrade kit provides 15 unique bare heads to customise your Space Marine miniatures, adding character and variation to your individual warriors. These heads sport a diverse range of facial features, expressions, scars, bionics, hair, and accessories, and all include a standard ball joint at the base of the neck, allowing them to be used with a huge variety of Space Marine miniatures in both plastic and resin. None of the heads bear specific Legion markings, meaning they can be used for any Legion.
Legiones Astartes – Character Heads Upgrade Set 2: $25
It’s not all horrors from beyond the limits of imagination in the Horus Heresy though. With every Mark VI Helmet Upgrade now revealed, Forge World is also releasing two sets of 15 bare Adeptus Astartes heads – battlefield safety be damned.
