Not too long ago Star Wars Visions was announced with almost no information, now we have the first full trailer!
Star Wars: Visions is a new project coming soon to Disney+ with the main goal of combining the world of anime and Star Wars together. To do this 7 different studios worked on independent short stories which will release as 9 episodes. Some of them are pretty renowned, like the creators of Promare and Kill La Kill. You can check the list of episode names and what studio works on them here.
Now let’s get into that sweet new trailer!
New Star Wars: Visions Trailer Looks Amazing
We have all seen when someone catches a sword swinging at them with their bare hands, but that wouldn’t work so well with a light saber. Catching it with the force, however? Insanely cool.
Introducing all of these studios for short stories also means an insane amount of new concepts, like this absolutely nutty “Lightsaber-umbrella”. While this might look a little silly, in the trailer in motion its use is actually pretty sweet. It’ll be interesting to see everything else these studios come up with.
There are also some unique approaches, such as one that seems to be about a musician performing on Tatooine! Not necessarily something we think about when someone brings up Star Wars.
Anime also opens the doors for some pretty outlandish and epic battles. If you don’t mind some “non-canon” entertainment just to see the “what-ifs” then this series will be an absolute grand slam!
The first episode airs on September 22nd, so be sure to check it out if you still have a Disney+ sub. Also, be sure to watch the trailer if you haven’t as it’s completely different seeing all the styles and scenes in action.
What do you think about this Anime and Star Wars cross-over? Are you excited?
