Spotted on Facebook, Support Your Local Brick And Mortar Game Store Month is a group page dedicated toward supporting your local game shops. Starting in May, we’re called to show our support by spending our hobby money in those local stores. Check out the details.
Support Your Local Brick And Mortar Game Store Month
Are you like me and tired of seeing great local game stores closing their doors?
Let’s start a movement. And call it Support your local Game Store!
I don’t care what game you play, or what hobby drives you.
The challenge is to cruise into your local shop, buy something, AND PAY RETAIL, bonus points if you post a selfie with the item, or the item if you’re shy like that and show that you supported your local shop. Or better yet post a picture of you, the item and the shopkeeper! No local shop, no problem, find the nearest (not cheapest) and order online and support them, so they can continue to recruit your next potential opponent. Will you accept this challenge? I sure will!
This month I will help my local shop pay their rent, so I can game another month.
We have a whole month, No excuses!
Starting in May: Support your Shop!
To show your support, it’s very simple. Just head down to your local store, buy something, take a picture with what you bought and post it to the Facebook page. We’re not called to drop our entire savings in the stores. Rather, through smaller contributions from hobbyists across the globe, we’ll be giving our love to the shops that work so hard to stay afloat.
This whole support month was started out of reaction to local hobby stores beginning to go out of business. If you want to keep the hobby spirit alive and have a little bit of money to spare, join with other hobbyists in the community and show your store you care!
This is going through the entire month of May so get ready!
