Ophidian Archway Reveals GW’s Double Standard?

confused-1-1

One ‘lucky’ Games Workshop retailer appears to be one of the only stores in the world to score July’s Age of Sigmar new releases weeks ahead of their competition. The question is, why?

Dragon’s Den Games apparently received something akin to the ‘Black Boxes’ of old in the mail nearly two weeks before the Age of Sigmar arrived on shelves. They shared this video with the rest of the class back on July 3rd, but politely asked no one to click the link until 12:01 am.

I personally know of stores that purchased a special release kit of EIGHTY, (YES 80!) Age of Sigmar Starter sets and all Games Workshop provided them as far as ‘promo’ items was an early starter set, some balloons, and shirts.  They also told those stores that they were not allowed to showcase or post that starter until the weekend when the pre orders goes up around 1PM EST on Saturdays.

If I was a GW retailer (who signed the same contract with GW as Dragon’s Den Games), I’d be scratching my head right now wondering why this store, that’s managed by an Ex-Games Workshop staffer (Phil Grau), got such special treatment! In fact, I would call up my GW rep and ask them that very question.

Since the whole thing’s up on Youtube already, here’s some screencaps of the new kit:

Again, Dragon’s Den seems to be the luckiest retailer in the world – getting an Archway 2 weeks before it’s official GW roll-out!
