The Farsight Supplement Question Answered By GW?

Come see what someone at Games Workshop had to say recently about IF there would be a new Farsight Enclaves supplement for Tau!

It looks like a customer here in the US was recently asking about the Farsight Enclaves supplement, and whether it there were plans to make a new version, because he wanted to buy it for his new army.

Which is completely a valid questions, how many times have we been stung by buying something, only to have it obsolete weeks or months later?

At first it seems like US Customer service is trying to help this customer out, but when asked directly they make counter accusations and denied everything.

QUESTION: Will there be a new Farsight Enclaves book being released with all the new Tau being dropped? I think it is really important for players to know if their armies will become obsolete or updated on all aspects of the respective codicies.

ANSWER:Thanks for writing in to us. Farsight Enclaves is compatible with the new Codex: Tau Empire, and I’m not aware of plans to release a new version of Farsight Enclaves.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

QUESTION: Are you sure there wont be another farsight book?? Any hint to what the next release will be? Just want to make sure that there is NO chance of a farsight being re released

ANSWER Hey ++REDACTED++We are still selling the existing Farsight Enclaves book, and I’ve been given information to suggest that an update is in the works. As far as new releases go, pre-orders go As far as new releases go, pre-orders go up every Saturday…..

QUESTION: Well thats a good thing to hear. But, that suggestion on the farsight update, proves my hunch right? There will be a new release of the Enclaves in the near future??

ANSWER: In no way have I intentionally insinuated that Farsight Enclaves will be updated. Both of my past two emails have stated that I am not aware of plans to update this product, and my level of awareness has not changed. The fact that we continue to sell the existing title would suggest that we will not be updating or replacing this title anytime soon, as it is still compatible with Codex: Tau Empire as is.If you took my statements on how pre-orders and releases work to mean that we would be releasing something along these lines, then I apologize. That statement was provided to answer your question about what would be released next.

My that escalated quickly! Obviously take all this with a grain of salt, but the way this conversion goes from helpful to cold shoulder is very weird, and not the typical A+ service that one normally gets from Games Workshop’s customer service team.

However it is a very weird co-incidence to see rumors emerge about a re-print of Farsight, and then a complete reversal in that helpful representative’s tone.
