The June London Open: Top 40k Army Lists
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we can look back at the event as if we were all there ourselves. You can check out event details here.
If you wanted to see the names and factions of the overall winners, we’ve included that below.
3rd Place: Nassim Fouchane – Space Marines
2nd Place: Thomas Brown – Eldar
1st Place: David Gaylard – Tyranids
David’s winning Tyranids army is a single battalion led by a Neurothrope and a Flyrant. The Neurothrope is a fantastic psyker while the Fly-rant is an all-star one-man unit that can wipe out units on repeat.
Troops bring in a total of 24 Warriors, which bring a mix of melee and ranged, making them effective and versatile bodies that can actually deal some pretty good damage to a variety of targets.
Elites bring in a Malceptor, 4 Pyrovores, 3 Tyrant Guard, 3 Venomthropes, and a Zoanthrope. The Malceptor is a great melee threat with a variety of abilities to help during the psychic phase. The Pyrovores offer some chaff clearing and the Tyrant Guard offers some more durable bodies to help on the front lines or protect characters.
Venomthropes help with some bonus mortal wound output and the Zoanthrope offers even more psychic support.
Closing out the list are two harpies that serve as great mobile threats that can deal heavy ranged damage and help to snipe models that you might have issues finishing off, they can also target armor very effectively.
