1st Place: David Irving- Imperial Knights

hub knights 1David went for a ton of points into knights, with a Super Heavy Detachment containing a Castellan, Magaera, and Styrix. The Castellan is pretty much the go-to big weapon platform as far as knights are concerned, and with his loadout, he has a ton of high S, AP, and Damage shots each turn.

The Magaera on the other hand is slightly cheaper and has more focus on chaff clearing with multi-shot 2 damage weapons and its signature siege claw instead of stomps. The Styrix is similar, by taking the rad-cleanser and claw, but also has a slightly different ranged weapon.

But these three knights aren’t all that’s on the list! Knights might be very durable and have a ton of damage output, but it helps to have bodies to help play the objectives, which is where the next detachment comes in.

hub knights 2The second detachment is a patrol of Astra Militarum led by a company commander, a pretty standard HQ choice for hardly any investment at all.  There is a single troop in Tempestus Scions, which serve as more elite standard guardsmen. They also bringing slightly better weapons. Sergeant Harker serves as another body with a slightly improved heroic intervention.

Finally, there are two Manticores that have their long-range Storm Eagle Rockets for some extra firing support.

Grats to David for the win!

Knights have won this time, but what do you think about all three of these most recent lists?
