Top 40k Army Lists: Chaos Burns Down the Glasshammer GT #10
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings, we can look back at the event as if we were all there ourselves. Check out the details here.
3rd Place: Christopher Radford – Space Wolves
2nd Place: Josh Roberts – Chaos Space Marines
1st Place: Vik Vijay – Chaos Space Marines
Vik’s winning Chaos list features a two detachments approach to Chaos Space Marines, with the first being a battalion led by Master of Possesions for Psychic support, a Dark Apostle for Prayer support, and a Daemon Prince to wreak havoc in melee combat.
The Troops keep it straightforward with 20 Noise Marines for their great Blastmasster Special Weapons and 10 Cultists to add a few cheap wound-soaking models.
Elites spend a few points by taking a large 10-man Terminator squad for their great dual-threat potential in melee and range, while also being very durable and hard to take down. There are also five Possessed for some melee threats and a Master of Executioners to run down and assassinate enemy characters in melee.
Fast Attacks bring a single Venomcrawler for a cheap weapons platform that can actually put out some decent damage for the point cost.
Finally, the second detachment is just Abaddon, who is arguably the best single model available to Chaos Space Marines. Acting as essentially a Primarch, he just has too much killing power, durability, and army support caked into his kit to not consider him for any CSM list.
