1st Place: John Lennon – Tyranids
John’ Tyranids won the tournament with a three detachment setup, with the first being a Patrol led by a Hive Tyrant, which has some support abilities and a great stat line, and a Neurothrope for some psychic support. Troops have a squad of flying gargoyles as a distraction unit. E
lites have three Venomthropes, which pump out some mortal wounds. Zoanthropes, on the other hand, are another psyker. Fast Attacks bring in 10 Raveners, decent flyers with good ranged and melee weapons.
The first detachment closes with 3 Biovores which help with more mortal wound output.
John’s second detachment is another Patrol led by a flying Hive Tyrant, and troops bring in three Warriors for more elite bodies to shoot or charge in if needed.
Elites have three Pyrovores, which are, again, more mortal wound output.
The second detachment ends with a Parasite of Mortrex, a cheap model with some great mortal wound rules. The list then finishes with a Sporocyst, providing some bonus utility to the list.
