Top Army Lists: Flying Monkey Con 40k GT

Top-3-army-lists-40k-wal-horThe Flying Monkey Con 40K GT happened over the weekend with some pretty sweet army lists making it out towards the top!

The tournament is over and now we’re able to look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what the winners brought in their armies.

Again this week we decided to grab our 3 favorite lists instead because the actual top was mostly Ad Mech and Dark Eldar lists we’ve seen plenty of times before.

Dan Sammons – Orks

flying monkey orkDan’s list of Orks went for two detachments of Freebooterz. The first was a Patrol led by a Deffkilla Wartrike. This provides a beefy body with great mobility, a focus on advancing, and dealing damage. Troops bring in Grots as they are the cheapest.

Elites bring Kommandos which are slightly better than normal Boyz. While Fast Attacks bring in 10 Stormboyz for extra mobility.

Heavy Support introduces two Mek Gunz for firing support. Finishing up the Patrol, a Burna-Bommer and Dakkajet, which both bring aerial ranged support and some decent mortal wound outputs.

Moving onto the second detachment, it is an Outrider led by a Beastboss on Squigosaur. This HQ just serves as another big beat stick in this list with the potential to deal tons of damage in melee. As for Fast Attacks, there are 3 Megatrakk Scrapjets, which bring ranged support and some great mobility.

Next, there are a total of 4 Rukkatrukk Squigbuggies and 1 Nitro Squig for even more ranged support and mobility. As speed and mobility seem to be the main focus of this list, the Fast Attacks finish up with 8 Warbikers, solidifying the list’s emphasis on movement.

Heavy Support brings one more Mek Gun, bringing the total to three for some decent Anti-armor ranged options. And Flyers end the list with two more Dakkajets for extra ranged harassment and some bonus mortal wounds.

What do you think about all three of these most recent lists? Do you like seeing Orks do well?
