Top Five Pro Players who are also Gentlemen

gw army displayThere is this rumor floating around the internet that all competitive players are the devil and that playing them is the worst.

In fact, most people assume playing to win is boring and all serious, which is another myth we try to debunk every week on the show, where we bring an entertaining and fun approach to competitive 40k.

And Austin, being such a beast at the Warhammers, has played more than his fair share of these pro players. In today’s A-Dawg’s Top Dogs, he reveals the most gentleman-like beating he has received at the hands of other top players.

5- Brad Chester

If you are ever on the internet (and reading this hints that you are ), you have most likely heard of Brad Chester, often lovingly called Old Man Brad in the tournament scene.

Brad is a prime example of gentleman gaming, having fun and bringing a relaxed approach to the game, even if played at the highest levels.

4- Richard Siegler

Another name synonymous with Warhammer beatings, Richard Siegler is a great example of the gentleman gamer.

Rest assured that he will utterly crush you, but Mr. Seegs is a great example of playing the game by intent.  He tells you exactly how and why he is going to beat you and makes sure there is no ‘gotcha-hammer’ and feels bad moments in the game.

I mean, as little feeling bad as can be when he removes your stuff from the board…

3- Nick Nanavati

What can be said of Nick that he hasn’t already said himself?  Nick is perhaps the face of competitive 40k of the last decade having won multiple events and designed some of the most popular ( and nasty ) lists played in the game.

Nick, especially in recent years, is also amazingly fun to play against and watch play.  The armies he tends to play are also usually dynamic and engaging, meaning that you spend the game in the action, which is something great in itself.

2- Sean Nayden

Sean is best known in the competitive scene for his unique play-style and even more unique and out there list building.

Do you hate seeing lists you’ve seen 4 trillion times over on the internet?  Well, you’re in luck, because Sean won’t be playing it unless he designed it himself – and usually, people who try to replicate his list fail at playing it.

1- Lawrence Baker

The Spider, as he’s known from his ever-popular channel Tabletop Tactics, is perhaps one of the most WYSIWYG figures in terms of quality of play.

You are playing the same great calculated player and demeanor on and off camera, truly worthy of the number one spot in this list.
