The 2021 Michigan GT happened over the weekend with some pretty sweet 40k army lists making it out towards the top!
The top overall players were a lot of the same stagnant meta that has hung over tournaments like the ghost of the Knight Castellan, so we’re featuring some of the more unique lists that placed high instead!

Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves. You can check out the details for the event here.
10th Place: Michael Jeffries – Tyranids
9th Place: Geoff Hill – Grey Knights
8th Place: Caleb Nelson – Thousand Sons
Caleb’s Thousand Sons list is a battalion of pure and focused towards their strengths. In HQs there are 2 Exalted Sorcerers and an Infernal Master, all of which add a ton of psychic support while the Master has the benefit of getting access to Infernal Pacts to use in the command phase for extra flexibility and support.
Troops bring in a total of 20 Rubric Marines, with 4 Soulreaper cannons and 4 Sorcerers, making for some serious ranged threats and extra movement thanks to Temporal Surge.
Elites start off great with 15 Scarab Terminators, which are fantastic and durable threats that can do fairly well as both melees and ranged damage dealers that are hard to take down.
A single Tzaangor Shama adds some extra psychic powers as well because you can never have enough as a Tzeentch list!
Finally, there is 9 Chaos Spawn serving as some extra bodies and rounding out the list to only 3 pts shy of the crisp 2k.
