Top Warhammer 40k Army Lists: Holiday Havoc RTT
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves. You can also check more about this event here.
If you wanted to see the names and factions of the overall winners, we’ve included that below.
Also if you happened to miss it, the meta will be changing in some manner due to the new Balance Update for 40k that Games Workshop published in November.
3rd Place: Felipe Ortiz – Astra Militarum
2nd Place: Tom Fuller – Chaos
1st Place: Zachary Francey – Deathwatch
Zachary’s Deathwatch consists of a single battalion led by a Primaris Lieutenant, Primaris Techmarine, and a Watch Master. The Lieutenant has a wound re-roll aura, making him great in core heavy lists, while the Watch Master has both a hit re-roll aura and a targeted re-roll ability, making the two characters a deadly combo supercharging nearby squads.
The Techmarine is helpful because there are a few vehicles and he makes sure to heal one every turn squeezing out some extra value of those models.
The first troop is the Simplest and is a 5 man squad of Incursors, making for some bodies to grab objectives and take advantage of those re-roll auras!
The next two squads of troops are a little more complicated, but thanks to being able to take Bikers and a mix of jump pack vets, it makes for a very versatile force, with a ton of mobility.
Elites start off with Company Vets, which are mainly to get the list closer to the crisp 2k pts mark. There are also three Redemptor Dreads, which are kitted with a 2-1 split of Macro Plasma and Heavy Gatling. These are fantastic options for anti-armor and chaff clearing respectively, but they are also mobile and relatively durable usually making their points back in killing models.
Closing out ELites are 2 Relic Contemptors running Volkite Culverin, which is great at taking our 2 wound models… So long Space Marine opponents!
Finishing the list is a Land Speeder, adding just a touch of mobility and getting the list only 2 pts away from a perfectly packed 2k.
