Steven’s winning Tyranids are a 2 detachment set up with the first being a Patrol led by a Neurothrope and a Winged Hive Tyrant.

The Flying Hive Tyrant is a fantastic stat-stick model with the extra benefit of having a re-roll ability to help out friendly units, with the built-in benefit of having extra flexibility thanks to those wings while the Neurothrope offers a cheap-ish psyker.

Troops then bring in 10 Gargoyles for some cheap bodies.

The other troop is 6 warriors, which are quite durable and flexible units that can frontline with ease.

Elites then introduce a Maleceptor,  which is an exclusively melee-focused unit that has great built-in mortal wound output. There are also 2 Harpys as a mobile flying threat to deal some chip damage every turn.

The second detachment is another patrol led by a Hive Tyrant and a Tyranid Prime. The Tyrant is the same as the previous one, except this time it is foot slogging instead of flying, while the Tyranid Prime is a cheap HQ with flexible loadout options.

This smaller patrol also brings in 9 Warriors, which are very similar to the first set from the previous detachment. Finally, the last unit is 3 Venomthropes, bringing in even more mortal wound output.

Obviously, the last hurrah for a lot of armies in light of Nephilim Chapter Approved 2022 changes, as next week’s top 40k army lists are sure to shake up the meta a bit.
