Chaos is still viable in competitive play as another off-meta Warhammer 40k army list emerged in The US Open Seattle GT!
9th Edition’s meta is again in flux, but some players are taking lists with units that nobody was expecting. Check out this awesome homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend. This just goes to show us that sometimes it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play.
US Open Seattle 40k GT: Homebrew 40k Army List
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves.
If you wanted to see the names and factions of the overall winners, we’ve included that below.
However, we aren’t covering all those lists, instead, we will be looking at just one of our favorites this week.
US Open Seattle 40k GT: Wallace O’Donnell – Chaos 7th Place
Even with Chaos Codexes on the horizon, Wallace was able to pull through with a great performance running a mixed Daemon list.
He goes for a battalion of Disciples of Be’lakor led by none other than Be’lakor, a fantastic model with evasion, mobility, great unique rules, and a fantastic melee profile. There is also a Contorted Epitome, which is a decent psyker and buffs nearby Slaanesh models.
Troops start off with a total of 50 Bloodletters, which can put down some serious hurt if they get into melee at full strength. There are also 30 Pink Horrors, which are a little more durable and have the benefit of ranged attacks. There are also 3 Nurglings which are very durable for their extremely low point costs.
There are also 6 Furies for some mobility to help clear up damaged squad or get a free far away objective.
The second detachment is a single Master of Possessions for some more psychic support and the ability to summon more Daemons through the 471 reinforcement points!
