Get ready for more rabid fans as Walmart says Pokemon & Trading Cards are back on the menu at all of their stores.
Last week Target and Walmart removed the cards because of some seriously crazy situations over them. One even included 3 men attacking another and a gun being pulled.
Now, Walmart told the NY Times that they never really took the cards away, and also stated the signs posted at stores were incorrectly put there by local management. On top of that, they say there was never an order to not restock the shelves. Even though there were no cards, they just say that was due to high demand.
So maybe they never were gone and employees just didn’t want to deal with it! Let’s just hope the craziness dies down a little and kids can get some cards again soon!
Pokemon & Trading Cards Back on the Menu at Walmart
So, it seems like someone is a little mistaken here! This was a sign from Clay Pruitt on Facebook, which looks a lot to us like they were told not to restock. But in a recent statement from Walmart published by the NY Times, they heavily dispute those claims:
We have not suspended the sale of any trading cards. Like other retailers, we have seen increased customer demand, and we are determining what, if any, changes are needed to meet customer demand while ensuring a safe and enjoyable shopping experience.
So now one thing is for sure, Walmart is not going to miss out on this craze and those sweet, sweet Pokemon dollars.
Target Confirms Their Stance
Target however has since confirmed its stance on the cards that they originally posted on May 14th. Meaning they will still not stock trading cards like Pokemon for the time being. So if you’re still craving trading cards like Pokemon, looks like Walmart is the place to be.
Do you think we’ll hear some more crazy stories out of this whole thing? Have you seen any cards stocked recently?
