The World of Tanks tabletop game is now available from Gale force 9 with a starter set and expansion packs!
The game is easy to learn, quick to play, and super fun! The starter set gives you everything you need to play the game other than an opponent and a table. A single buy can get you playing in no time. But they didn’t want to leave you without options! They are also releasing a host of single tank expansion so you can play bigger games and get some variety.
It is based on the online game, so if you played that and like tabletop gaming, you have to check this out. They even included some of the favorite crew members, skill, and perks. Let’s take a closer look at it!
Starter Set: $40.00
You get all kinds of stuff in the starter set. Let’s hear about it from them on everything in the kit:
The box contains four assembled and pre-painted 1:100 scale miniatures, ready for battle. Each tank has a tank card that contains all the stats and information that you need to know.
In the Starter Set, you will find 31 different cards that you can use to personalize your tanks. These have been divided into two different sets, 13 cards marked “Open First” that are used in the first of the boot camp training missions and another 18 that you can try out as you get more confident with your tank’s abilities and the rules.
Gameplay:
With the game being based on the online version, you know it’s going to be fast-paced and full of action!
Each game uses a mixture of terrain: woods, hills, buildings, and walls to make each battlefield unique. Inside the box, you will find a pair of double-sided cardboard woods or hills, which provide cover or block line of sight, four buildings that restrict your movement options and can hide tanks, and four walls that can provide some cover from enemy fire.
Lastly, there is a range of cardboard tokens to help you keep track of what is going on during the battle: which tank is which and how fast they moved, along with a measuring arrow, used for everything from movement, checking close range, and setting up the battlefield.
Expansion Sets: $12.00
Each individual expansion comes in at the same price with a prepainted tank and all the cards you need to play it.
That does it for the starting set of releases. But they have a bunch more on preorder and look to be expanding the game quickly!
