Xenos On Top In American 40k: Top 40k Army Lists ATC Team Event
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings, we can look back at the event as if we were all there ourselves. You can check the event details here.
While the tournament was for teams of 5 players, these were the overall placings by player at the event.
3rd Place: Tony Kopach – Necrons
2nd Place: Red Powell – Necrons
1st Place: Luis Betancourt – Orks
Luis’ successful Ork list featured a 2 detachment setup. The first is a Battalion led by a Mega Armour Warboss and a Big Mek. The Mek helps with some repair support to vehicles throughout the game while the boss has a hit roll buff aura and is a great model on his own.
Troops bring in 30 Beast Snagga Boyz as they are decently cheap bodies and are slightly better in melee than normal boyz.
Elites start off with 20 Kommandos, which are slightly stronger than boyz with a much more diverse loadout to choose from. There are also 10 Killsaw Meganobs to help with some carnage in melee fights.
Fast attacks keep it simple with 20 Stormboyz, who have great mobility and can be distractions or lock units into melee quickly.
Closing out the first detachment is then 3 Deff Dreads for more melee threats and a single Trukk to help transport some of the foot slogging bodies.
The second detachment is a small patrol led by another Warboss, this time without the mega armor, to save some points.
Troops add ten more Beast Snagga Boyz and 10 Gretchin, extremely cheap bodies. Finally, the list closes with one more Trukk!
