The rules have changed. Pray I don’t alter them any further! Come see the new update has just been released for Star Wars Destiny.
The Rules Update for Star Wars Destiny will be changing the way that competitive cards are played and applied to the game mechanics. Will you be able to keep up with the new changes to this hot new dice and card game? Let’s review the changes.
A relatively new card that shook up the meta game has been Ammo Belt. This 1 resource upgrade allowed you to discard the Ammo Belt instead of an equipped upgrade that would be discarded by a card effect. This allowed for a broken combo with Second Chance.
This combo would make it so that a character equipped with Ammo Belt and Second Chance would have to discard Ammo Belt to heal 5 damage from a “defeated” character and still have Second Chance equipped, ready to heal another 5 damage again. This would create a scenario in which your opponent would have to deal massive amounts of damage to defeat a Second Chance character. The recent rules have changed Ammo Belt to only discard a weapon, so this rules out Second Chance since it is an equipment. Another exploited combo in Destiny is the infamous Vader/ Raider deck. This deck featuring Elite Vader and a Tusken Raider strikes fear in the hearts of players everywhere. A key attribute of Vader Raider is Fast Hands, enabling Vader to roll dice and immediately resolve them while equipped with Fast Hands.
This enabled Vader to destroy his opponents with raw power. Another combo that saw much use out of Fast Hands was Poe Dameron and Maz Kanata. This super fast tier 1 deck broke the entire meta game wide open, and require a change to Fast Hands. This upgrade can only be equipped to Yellow characters. This limits the effectiveness of broken combos getting abused in these decks.
Do the new rules changes effect your current Destiny decks? You must adapt and overcome the changes to become a better Destiny player!
